I have been updating this blog quite much recently but that is gonna change from now, I'm sorry to say. You know, it's not easy to find four new artists for each update. It's easier for you who have blogs that concentrate on music from all over the world, while this is only focusing on Swedish music.
Anyways, there will be at least one update from me each week.
Jon requested Caracola and it's my duty, from time to time, to fulfill some requests. It makes my "job" easier anyway.. It usually takes ages for me to decide which songs to share with you.

Ever heard the expression "Big in Japan"? It's very common in Sweden. Many of our artists are much more successful and bigger over there. Denise "DeDe" Lopez is one of them. Denise started out as a dancer and toured the world with Dr. Alban and Culture Beat among others.
On her second album she worked with the genius Max Martin who wrote two of her biggest hits to date. The single

Another brilliant popstar that has always been more appreciated abroad is the amazing Jessica Folcker. I've always had a crush on this girl. Her looks are stunning and you can easily hear when it's Jessica who's grabbed the mike because of her distinctive yet beautiful voice.

One of the best things that have happened to Swedish music recently is the most talented Maria Marcus. I instantly fell in love with her current single,"Music Is", when I first heard it. It's a beautiful, dreamlike mid-tempo popsong. I wish more young talented women would get to release their material instead of people like Paris Hilton and others.

I think I've featured Zandra before. But she's worth mentioning again 'cause she's like amazing in every single way. She released the best popalbum of 2005. Perhaps one of the best debutalbums ever.
Sadly we didn't see much of Zandra on the charts, but I know a true talant ALWAYS gets the attention he/she deserves at the end of the day.

Another brilliant talented songwriter is Sofia Loell. I discovered her just a few months ago, until then I had never heard about her although she had released an album in 2002. "War Of Life" was released earlier this year and it's without a doubt her best song. I can't wait until a new album sees the daylight. She's something to watch out for!

Sweden have some amazing singers and Jennifer Brown is no exception. Despite the name she actually is Swedish (American father or something.) She's yet another outstanding singer and songwriter. If you ever come across any of her albums you shouldn't hesitate - just get 'em and consider yourself a lucky owner.

» Male electro-duo
Hi everyone! I’m not dead. Just like last year, there will be a lack of updates from me during the summer because I’m living with my dad, and he has a bad modem. But I’m home now for a couple of days, so I thought I’d compensate by making a theme post with six summer hits from our lovely male electro-duos. Hope you don’t mind having so many songs in one post!
The Similou – Play With Us This was the third single off their debut album “So Hot Right Now”, and is also my favourite song on the album. Yes – I even like it better than ‘All This Love’. The chorus is sublime, and there are some amazing police sirens in the end of the song. That along with the usual electro-pop aceness of The Similou makes this song pretty damn good.
My Darling YOU! – Please Don’t Talk To Me I Fall In Love So Easily (Mr. Pedro feat. Funky Fredd Remix) I posted the original version of this song as a bonus a couple of months ago, so I think it’s only fair for it to be in focus, because it’s such a great song. This is an even more poptastic & danceable version of the song, completed with a comedy rap bit and some amazing disco beats. My Darling YOU! also have a new EP out in a couple of weeks, which is called “My Heart Beats Too Fast For Our Friendship To Last”, and will include five completely new songs. Let’s hope they’re in the same pop quality as the previous ones.
The Tough Alliance – 25 Years And RunningTTA released a new EP a couple of weeks ago, and just as the album released last year, it got extremely hyped. The critics has gone mental for it, as well as several Swedish music bloggers. Deservedly so, since I think the EP is sensational. I can’t quite put my finger on why but I get a slightly euphoric feeling while listening to it. I think it might be the bizarre vocals, which I love. And, of course, the strong tunes that are both catchy and discotastic. ’25 Years And Running’ has to be TTA’s poppiest song to date, and it’s officially my favourite song of the summer. Download; it’ll make you happy.

Three Is A Crowd – Standing In A Corner This is another male electro-duo I haven’t featured yet, basically because they’re not as good as the others, but they have a couple of crackers, this being one of them. TIAC (which is what everyone calls the group) is usually too indie for my taste, but this song features some weird but interesting vocals, and a catchy ‘nanana’-bit sang by children which brings the pop to the song, so I ended up liking it.
Le Sport – Chemical Drugs This is the new Le Sport single and it’s wicked. The lyrics are rather controversial, being about the fact that drugs make you happy. I don’t know if they’re being ironic, political or just want to be provocative, but whatever their mission is the result is mighty fine. It takes a couple of listens to get into, but once you have you’ll have it stuck in your head for hours! I’m also very much recommending their album, which you can buy here.

Lo-Fi-FNK – Adore
Basically another lovely masterpiece off Lo-Fi-FNK’s brilliant debut album “Boylife”, which is my third favourite Swedish pop album (behind BWO and The Knife). I wasn’t sure whether to post another song off it since I’ve already posted quite a few in the past, but I couldn’t just leave them out while featuring all the other male electro-duos since they're one of my favourites!

Elena Paparizou - The Game of Love [Buy] - album out in August.
Earlier this year Elena released her second album "Yparxei Logos" in Greece and this is one of my favourite tracks. The verses are in Greek but the chorus is completely in English. The song will also be featured on her European album, which is out in August.
Bosson - You [Buy]
The Boss (just kidding) is back with a brand new single. "You" sounds much like his previous stuff, but who cares when it's good, right? I expect this to be a big summerhit in Sweden. It really is a catchy tune of Sweden! :)
September - Satellites (US Mix) [Buy]
It's exactly a year ago September released the smash-hit "Satellites". And now it's being released here and there. It was released in Australia in May, and now it's American's turn. If this is something for America, we'll see. The new version is a bit different. Enjoy it, it's as good as it was a year ago!
Peter Jöback - Higher [Buy]
Peter is one of Sweden's best singers, and best looking, if I may say so myself. In 2000 "Higher" was released and it was an instant hit on the charts, peeking at #2!
